Ian and Jace playing:) |
We had a near miss collision at an intersection in Santa Clarita as a truck decided not to stop at the red light. Danny looked up at the perfect time to be able to stop and let the truck fly by. God had His hand on us:)
At the appointment God was working His wonders while we were there in His own special way. I had not brought the correct CD with Jace's images so they needed to to an x-ray and Ultrasound of Jace
before we could talk with the doctor. We had to wait for a few hours to get everything done. Jace did great playing and watching old Tom and Jerry cartoons:)
When we were in the ultrasound, the tech explained that one of Jace's kidney was very low in his pelvis but the other was in the right place. We had remembered hearing something about this, but everything is becoming more clear.
The doctor was very helpful in explaining Jace's condition and shared some experiences that he had over the years with Cloacal patients. Hope of a fairly normal life that others had lead. We explained to him that we would like Jace to go to Hopkins and he said that would be a good idea, but that UCLA could do the surgery also. He also told us that he would be retiring and that he would not be doing anymore surgeries. If we wanted to go to UCLA to have the surgery done his associates would do it under his supervision. He was going to write a letter to our insurance letting them know our wishes.
As we were talking another little boy that was a patient of Dr. Churchills came in for an appointment. At the last minute...they decided to come in...while we were there! God knows exactly what we need at the very moment we need it!!! We asked the doctor if this was planned and he said, no while he smiled.
Since then, the mother of the little boy has been so helpful with information that I would have never known without her experience. And she is an RN:)
As of now, we do not have the ok from our insurance to get Jace to Hopkins but we are praying and gathering information. We know that it

Some prayer requests for the next few weeks are:
-For God to be magnified and that we would clearly see and closely follow God's leading.
-That Jace will be able to have his surgery done within the next few months at Hopkins (the best age window to operate according to the doctors)
-That God would provide his peace and his resources for His purposes, not ours.
-For Suzanne and I to grow in our love of the Lord and others through this, and that others would share our joy and encouragement as we see God answer prayer.
Thank you for praying for this situation, for us and for Jace!
